What it’s like

A local theatre putting on family shows, with step-free access to the stalls and a lift up to the bar.

This is a proper working theatre rather than a big commercial venue, so what you get depends on what's on when you go, but it's set up as a family theatre with pantomime and family shows on the programme. It's a short walk from the local rail and bus stations, which is handy if you're not driving in and don't fancy hunting for a space in town.

Access is a mixed picture worth knowing before you book. There are two wheelchair accessible seats in the stalls and a lift gets you step-free to both the stalls and the bar, but the circle isn't accessible. If anyone in your group uses a wheelchair, that puts you in the stalls by default, which is arguably the better view anyway for younger kids who want to see faces rather than heads bobbing about below.

There's an accessible toilet and baby change on site, so a trip with a very young one isn't a logistical nightmare. Beyond that, it's the kind of venue where you turn up for the show itself rather than a day of extra activities bolted on, so plan your visit around the performance time rather than expecting much either side of it.
