What it’s like
Soft play built for the under sixes, with two wavy slides, a ball pond and Cozy Coupes to pedal round a mini townscape.
This one's aimed squarely at the little end of the age range, nought to six, so there's no risk of your toddler getting mown down by a gang of ten-year-olds. The main structure has a ball pond and two wavy slides, there are trampolines to bounce out the last of the morning energy, and a Cozy Coupes track lets the smaller ones pedal round a mini townscape rather than just toddling about. There's a giant Lego zone too, which is the bit worth saving for when they need to sit still for five minutes without actually sitting still.
A baby under one gets in for £3, one to four year olds are £7.50, and five and over is £8.50. An extra adult is £1, which is fair enough as pricing goes. If you're going most weeks over summer, the Play Pass is the one to look at: £39.95 covers one adult and up to three kids for nine weeks, July to September, and it works at both the Horsforth and Shipley branches.
It's a weekday morning sort of place really. Open 9 till 3 Monday to Friday, and Sundays it's 9 till 1 before the room switches over to private parties in the afternoon. There's a sensory room with its own baby area if you've got a very small one who needs somewhere quieter than the main hall, and the on-site café does proper hot and cold food rather than just vending machine snacks.
Parking's free and there's plenty of it round the back, which is one less thing to think about. If a birthday's on the cards, parties are exclusive use, 1.5 hours plus 15 minutes to set up, with slots on weekday afternoons, several through the day on Saturday, and two on Sunday afternoon. You can go self-catering or add the buffet at £40.
