What it’s like
Paint a ceramic pot or plate, leave it for firing, and come back a week later to a proper finished piece.
You pick a bisque pot off the shelf, plonk yourself down with paints, stencils and stamps, and go for it. There's no age limit on this, the site is clear that it's for babies, toddlers, kids and adults alike, so a grown-up can happily paint alongside a three-year-old without feeling like a spare part. Handprints and footprints are on offer too, which is the sort of thing you end up keeping forever and pretending you meant to do all along.
Prices run from £5 up to £30 depending on what you pick off the shelf, so a small trinket dish and a big serving platter are two very different bills. Sessions are booked for two hours in busy periods but there's no clock-watching if you don't finish, you can pop back another day to carry on. Your finished piece gets fired and comes back food and dishwasher safe about a week later, which does mean no instant gratification on the day.
A couple of things worth knowing before you turn up. You can't bring your own food or drink unless you're a party group with cake and nibbles, and it's one adult per two painting children, so a lone parent with three under-fives might find seating gets tight. Opening hours shift about through the week, shorter on Tuesdays and Thursdays, later on Wednesdays and Fridays, so check which day you're going before you plan around it.
Parties are the other big draw here, from £15 a child for pottery painting or £15.50 for slime and tie dye, with a private room that takes up to 25 kids for a 1.5 hour session and a personalised birthday plate thrown in. Ten kids minimum though, so it's not one for a small friendship group.

How long do sessions last?
As long as you like. Busy periods are booked in two-hour slots, but if you don't finish you can come back another day.

Around a week later, once it's been glazed and fired so it's food and dishwasher safe.
Can we bring snacks?
Own food and drink isn't allowed, though party groups can bring cake and nibbles.
What about parking?
There's a shared private car park at the rear plus on-street parking outside and on the neighbouring streets.
Is it OK for toddlers?
It's open to babies, toddlers and adults alike, not just older kids, so a family session works for mixed ages.
