What it’s like
Adults-only salsa and bachata classes plus weekly social dancing nights, no partner or experience required.
This is a grown-ups' dance academy, not a kids' activity, so if you're after something for the children this isn't it. What you get instead is Salsa and Bachata classes built for adults who want to actually learn to dance, plus a weekly social where you put it into practice.
You don't need a partner and you don't need experience. Complete beginners start on the 4-week beginner courses, and if you've already danced before you can skip straight in with an Introductory Training Session for £15, a sensible way to test the water before committing to anything longer. Classes themselves run 45 minutes and a standard training evening usually covers both Salsa and Bachata, so you're not just drilling one style all night.
The membership options are where it gets a bit more of a commitment. Hooked is £70 for one training day a week, Addicted is £129 for up to 24 sessions every four weeks, and both renew automatically without tying you into a long contract. There's a £10 Welcome Code that knocks a bit off your first payment, worth grabbing if you're signing up anyway. The weekly social is open to everyone, members and non-members, beginners and experienced dancers alike, which makes it a low-pressure way in if classes feel like too big a first step.
It's a short walk from Waverley Station and well served by trams, taxis and buses, so getting there without a car is easy. On-street parking is usually free after 6:30pm if you are driving, which suits the evening class times well.
