What it’s like
A 60-minute puzzle room where your team works together to escape before the clock runs out, best from age 8 up.
You and your team get locked in a themed room together and have 60 minutes to work through the puzzles, riddles and challenges that get you out. The site lists over 15 different rooms, all inspired by the Japanese game "Takagism", and every booking is private, so it's just your group in there, no random strangers thrown in to help or hinder.
It suits kids from about 8 upwards, but the age rules have some faff to them. Under-12s need an adult with them in the room, 12 to 16 year olds can play without one as long as an adult stays on the premises, and 16 to 18 year olds can go it alone if an adult signs a waiver and sticks around. Under-6s get in free if they're tagging along, though realistically this isn't one for little ones, it's built for kids who can read clues and argue about theories.
Turn up on time or earlier if you can. Arrive more than 15 minutes late and the timer starts anyway, eating into your hour, and more than 20 minutes late means the game's cancelled with no refund. It's cashless, so leave the loose change at home, and if plans change you'll need more than 24 hours notice to reschedule for free, otherwise you lose the booking entirely.
A few of the rooms have ladders, tunnels or jump scares built in, worth knowing if someone in your group isn't keen on tight spaces or surprises. There's free parking on site, and bus routes 132, 120 and 400 stop nearby if you're coming without a car. It isn't wheelchair accessible, which is worth flagging before you book if that affects your group.
