What it’s like

Forts, dragons and tunnels to climb, a proper zoo to wander round, and jumping pillows to finish the day off.

The climbing forts and "enchanted castles" are the bit that gets talked about, all tunnels, turrets and dragons for kids to disappear into for a good while. There's a real zoo and farm running alongside it too, so you go from meerkats to giant tortoises without leaving the site, and a Bird of Prey display if you time it right. Little ones get an indoor playbarn and Imaginarium for when the legs need a rest, and there's an interactive jungle with water play and an insectarium if bugs are your child's thing.

The jumping pillows and marble runs are the sort of thing you save for last, mainly because everyone's already soaked from the water play by then. Socks are needed for the pillows, so pack a spare pair if you don't fancy queueing in bare feet. Ages here run right down to babies, and the toddler ticket (one adult, one under-five, £13.50) makes it an easy morning out rather than a full commitment.

General admission is £16.50 online or £19 if you just turn up, and that £2.50 saving per person for booking ahead is worth having if there's more than one of you. Families of three to five can do the Ultimate Family Ticket for £95, which works out kinder than paying separately. Worth knowing the High Ropes course isn't included in park admission, so if that's the main event for an older child, budget for it on top. Tickets are non-refundable, so a rained-off Tuesday is a gamble.

It's an outdoor park at heart, open roughly 10am to 5pm most days (a bit later on autumn weekends), and there's step-free access and an accessible toilet if that matters for your family. Picnics are allowed in the outdoor areas once any party session has finished, which is handy if you'd rather not pay café prices for lunch.

Plan your visit

How much does it cost?

£16.50 a person online, £19 if you pay on the day. The toddler ticket is £13.50 for one adult and one under-five, and a family of three to five can get the Ultimate Family Ticket for £95.

Do we need to book ahead?

You can turn up on the day, but booking online saves £2.50 a head on general admission. Open Dated Tickets stay valid for a month if you want the flexibility.

Is it any good for a toddler?

Yes, ages start from babies and there's a specific toddler day ticket that pairs one adult with one under-five. The indoor playbarn is a good shelter option for smaller legs that tire quickly.

Does admission include the High Ropes course?

That's separate from general park admission. Worth factoring in if an older child has their heart set on it.

What time is the park open?

A typical day runs 10am to 5pm, stretching to 5:30pm on some autumn weekends. Hours shift over Christmas, closing at 4pm on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve.

Can we bring a picnic?

Picnics are welcome in the outdoor areas, though during a party booking that's only after the party session has finished.

What should the kids wear?

Long sleeves, comfortable trousers and closed-toe shoes are recommended, plus sun cream or wellies depending on the forecast. Socks are compulsory for the jumping pillows.

Can I get a refund if we can't make it?

All tickets are non-refundable, so it's a bit of a gamble booking around the weather.

How do birthday parties work?

Parties run for 1 hour 45 minutes and include options like Laser Tag, Nerf and Teddy Bear Workshop parties. The birthday child needs including in your numbers, but gets two free adult places, and every other paid guest brings one free adult too.

Can we bring our own birthday cake?

Shop-bought or professionally baked cakes are fine as long as allergen information comes with them. Homemade cakes aren't permitted under Natasha's Law.

Is the park accessible with a wheelchair or pushchair?

There's step-free access, an accessible toilet and the site is pushchair friendly. That said, some multi-level play structures may not suit every visitor.

Are there seasonal events?

There's a Pumpkin Event running from 25th September to 1st November, and Santa's Secret Village over Christmas with an early bird discount on tickets.
