What it’s like
A full day of hands-on outdoor cookery in Horsforth, working Big Green Eggs, an OFYR and a pizza oven for £195 a head.
You turn up at half ten for a bacon sandwich or pancakes with tea and coffee, then spend the day cooking across some proper outdoor kit: Big Green Egg, Charlie Oven, BSTRD, OFYR, Pit Barrel Cooker and the DeliVita wood-fired oven. It's a working session rather than a demonstration, so you're the one doing the cooking, and the site is upfront that it can overrun if the conversation and the food are both going well.
£195 a person is a proper outlay, but it covers the whole day including a full lunch with drinks, alcoholic and non-alcoholic. Classes cap at eight people, which keeps it hands-on rather than a crowd watching one chef, but it does mean booking ahead matters. During school holidays there are family sessions where kids eat free, which is worth knowing if you're weighing this up as a day out rather than a one-off treat.
Wear sensible shoes, no heels or open sandals, since you're on your feet most of the day. The BBQ area is described as a sun trap, so suncream and sunglasses earn their place alongside the notebook. Allergies aren't specifically catered for, though they'll tell you which of the 14 allergens are in each dish if you flag it beforehand.
Parking's on the driveway and only fits four cars, with an EV charging point if you need it. It's five minutes from Leeds Bradford Airport and well served by road and public transport. Groups of six or more can book corporate days, stag and hen parties, or birthday celebrations, and the mobile OFYR trailer can even come to you.
