Glasgow
What it’s like
Guided bike tours through Glasgow taking in the Cathedral, the Necropolis and the University, bikes and helmets provided.
This one's a guided cycle round Glasgow's landmarks rather than a straight pedal from A to B. You'll roll past Glasgow Cathedral, up through the Necropolis, down to the People's Palace and on to Glasgow University, with someone talking you through the history as you go. The whole thing runs about three hours, so it's more of a proper outing than a quick loop before lunch.
The pace is billed as relaxed, geared towards tourism and culture rather than anyone trying to drop you on a hill, which is the right call if you've got a child along who isn't fussed about Lycra and gears. The catch is the height rule: riders need to be around 4'10" (147cm) or taller for the small frame bikes, so this isn't one for a younger child who's still on stabilisers at home. Step-through frames mean a shorter rider can plant their feet at stops without drama.
Bikes and helmets are both provided free, and there's a £5 discount if you'd rather bring your own bike along. You meet at Drygate Brewing Co. on Drygate, a twelve-minute walk from George Square, and they want you there ten minutes before the off since they can only hold a spot for so long with other people booked in behind you. Booking ahead is required, there's no just turning up on the day.
Cancel more than 28 hours out and you get a full refund minus any third-party costs; leave it later than that and you lose the fee, which is worth bearing in mind if you're planning around a child's nap or a dodgy weather forecast.

Plan your visit
Do we need to book in advance?
Yes, booking is required and there's no turning up on spec. Arrive at least 10 minutes before your slot or they may not be able to hold your place.
How tall does my child need to be?
Around 4'10" (147cm) or taller for the small frame bikes. The step-through frames help shorter riders stop and start more easily.
Do you provide bikes and helmets?
Both are provided free of charge. Bring your own bike instead and you get a £5 discount.
What happens if we're running late or get lost?
There's a phone number to call for directions to the meeting point. They'll try to wait but can only hold things for around 10 minutes because of other people booked in after you.
What's the cancellation policy?
More than 28 hours before your tour gets you a full refund minus any third-party costs. Cancel within 28 hours and you won't get a refund.
