What it’s like
Climbing frames, twin wavy slides and a jungle village shop keep under-8s busy, with a separate baby corner for the crawlers.
The big frame is where the action is: ropes, a cargo net, a spiders web and a twin wavy slide that the older ones will head straight for. There's a jungle village shop and car play areas for the pretend-game crowd, plus Suzie's House for the kitchen roleplay stuff. Under-4s and babies get their own separate soft play area, away from the bigger kids barrelling about, which is the bit that actually matters if you've got a toddler in tow alongside a six-year-old.
It suits the 0 to 8 bracket the site sets, with a height limit of 4ft 5 inches on the equipment. Socks are compulsory and shoes stay off the frame, so pack a spare pair if yours always seem to lose one sock in transit. This isn't a drop-off centre either, you stay and supervise, and whoever's doing the supervising on the play frame needs to be 16 or over.
Food-wise there's a café doing sandwiches, paninis and wraps, but outside food is out apart from birthday cake and baby milk or food, so don't turn up with a packed lunch. Café access is for adults with a paying child, which is a fair enough rule but one to know before you plan a solo coffee. Term-time Toddler Mornings run weekday mornings 9:30 to 11:30, which is worth knowing if you want the place quieter with a toddler who isn't up for dodging bigger kids yet.
Birthday parties get 90 minutes of play plus 30 minutes in the party room, with food included, from £13.95 a child, though standard parties need a minimum of 10 kids and VIP ones need 20, so it's not really one for a small gathering. They take cards only, and there's parking on site.
