What it’s like

Quad bike trekking through ancient woodland for over-16s, with a separate zip wire play area for younger kids.

This one's mostly built around quad bike trekking through Weasenham Woods, one of the oldest bits of continuous cover forestry in Britain. That side's strictly 16 and up, so it's not a day out you can bring a seven-year-old along to and expect them to join in. Height, weight and age restrictions apply across the activities.

There's still a reason to bring the kids, though. The under-10s play area has four elements and a mini zip wire, plus a woodland walk that doesn't need any restrictions at all. It's outdoor and needs an adult keeping an eye, but it gives younger ones something to do while the older teens or adults in your group are off on the quads.

Everything runs on the phone, not online. Bookings start at 10am and the last one goes out at 3pm, so they can close up around 6. If you haven't booked, they want you to ring first rather than just turn up. The Woodland Cafe does food and refreshments, there's a covered picnic pavilion with an open log fire for when the weather turns miserable, and you can pre-book a BBQ if you fancy making a proper day of it.

Parking's free, with room for up to 50 cars on a hard standing car park. Birthday parties are welcome and the venue can be tailored to your group, with the pavilion available to hire for £400 a day if you want it to yourselves. Evening sessions run for bigger groups of 15 or more between June and September.
