What it’s like
An 18-hole jungle golf course with a 5m brachiosaurus, animatronic dinosaurs and a self-propelled raft ride through the cooking pot.
Eighteen holes wind past a real plane and jeep, giant mammoth tusks and a Jurassic house that keeps springing dinosaur surprises on you. The big one everyone remembers is the 5m tall brachiosaurus, and there's an actual raft ride you self-propel round, which is a proper novelty for adventure golf and probably worth saving for one of the later holes rather than rushing past it.
It suits kids from about 4 up, young enough to be won over by animatronic dinosaurs but old enough to manage a putter for 18 holes without losing interest halfway round. There's no booking system, you just turn up and play, which takes the faff out of planning a visit, though it does mean no guarantee of a quiet course on a sunny Saturday.
Adults are £10, under 16s £8.25, or £31.50 for a family of four with two adults, and that's a fair chunk of an afternoon's spending money for a round of golf, even a dinosaur-themed one. It's open 364 days a year, 9am to 8pm most days and 9am to 6pm on Sundays, with floodlit evening slots available if you ask in advance. Dogs aren't allowed on the course, so that's one to plan around if the dog usually comes too.
