What it’s like

Sofa seats and waiter-service burgers with your film, plus baby and toddler screenings with the sound turned right down.

This isn't a bucket-of-popcorn-and-shuffle-to-your-row cinema. You order food and drink and it gets brought to your seat, so a trip here is as much about the burger and the sofa as whatever's on screen. There's a proper kitchen doing sharing plates and specialty burgers, with vegan options too, and a bar if the grown-ups fancy a drink with the film.

For the smallest kids, Baby Club screenings are for under-12-months, with the sound down low and the lighting soft, and your ticket comes with a hot drink and cake or popcorn thrown in. Toddler Club does the same trick for ages 1 to 5. Outside of those dedicated slots, babies under 12 months can still come along to any U or PG film before 5pm free of charge, which is handy if a nap-time screening fits your day better than a special club one.

School holidays bring Family Film Club, with off-peak showings and child tickets at half price, aimed at the 5 to 14 crowd. There are also relaxed screenings for anyone who needs the lights kept low and the freedom to move about without funny looks, and Sunday and Wednesday throwback classics come with a free drink and popcorn.

Booking ahead is the sensible move but not compulsory. Buy at the box office rather than online if you want to dodge the £2.50 booking fee, though buggies do have to stay clear of the fire escapes and some screens are tight on space. Parking's a five minute walk away at Moorfields, and Lime Street station is about ten minutes on foot if you're coming by train.

Plan your visit

Do we need to book ahead?

It's recommended, especially for the club screenings, but you can turn up on the day too. Booking online adds a £2.50 fee, so buy at the box office if you want to skip that.

Can I bring a baby to a normal film, not just Baby Club?

Babies under 12 months can go to any U or PG screening before 5pm, free of charge, any day of the week.

What happens at Baby Club and Toddler Club?

Sound's turned down and the lights stay soft or dimmed, so it's a gentler watch. Your ticket includes a hot drink and cake or popcorn for you too.

What's there to eat?

Burgers, sharing plates and desserts from the Spielburger kitchen, with vegan and plant-based choices, plus a bar. It comes to your seat rather than a counter.

Is there room for a buggy?

You can bring one in, but it has to stay clear of the fire escape routes and some screens don't have much spare space.

What about older kids and 15 or 18 rated films?

No under-age entry to 15s or 18s, even with an adult. Family Film Club and the family ticket cover younger kids instead, up to age 14.

Where do we park?

NCP Moorfields is a five minute walk and open 24 hours. If you're on the train, Lime Street station is about ten minutes on foot.
