What it’s like
Sit down at a real pottery wheel and learn to throw a pot from scratch, or try handbuilding if the wheel looks too messy.
This is proper hands-on pottery, not painting a pre-made mug. You get taught wheel throwing or handbuilding, so you're centring clay, pulling it up into a shape and seeing what actually happens when it wobbles. It's a lot harder than it looks on telly, which is half the fun.
There are two options: a 2 hour one-to-one session at £50, or a 4 hour half-day version at £65 if you want more time to get properly stuck in and maybe finish more than one piece. The one-to-one setup means you're not sharing the wheel or the tutor's attention, which is worth the extra when you're starting from nothing.
You'll want to book ahead since it's one-to-one tuition, not a drop-in class. Wear something you don't mind getting clay on, because there's no way round that part.

How much does it cost?
£50 for a 2 hour one-to-one lesson, or £65 for a 4 hour half-day session.
Do we need to book?
Yes, it's booked in advance rather than a walk-in class.
What do we actually do?
You'll be taught wheel throwing or handbuilding, so you're making a pot with your own hands rather than decorating one that's already made.
Which session should we pick?
The 2 hour session is enough to learn the basics and make something. The 4 hour half-day gives you more time if you want to try more or aren't rushing off anywhere.
