What it’s like

Soft play, splash pool sessions and climbing on a 35ft tower under one roof, from £2.50 a go.

The deep sea den soft play is the obvious starting point for the younger ones, though it's capped at age 10, so if you've got a mix of ages you'll want the climbing wall or the splash pool lined up for the bigger kids too. There's a 35ft tower for climbing and abseiling, gymnastics classes in term time, and swimming lessons through Aquarius Swim School if you're after something more structured than a splash about.

Prices are properly low for what you get. Soft play is £3.50 for the first child and £2.50 for each one after, and the parent and toddler swim plus soft play combo is £6. Half-term camps run at £20 a day or £90 for the full five days, though it's worth knowing camp food has to be nut-free, so pack accordingly. Everything's booked online or by phone and once it's confirmed it's final, no refunds if plans change.

Opening hours are generous on weekdays, from half six in the morning right up to 10pm, which suits shift-working parents or anyone after an early wraparound session at £3.50. Weekends and bank holidays are shorter, closing at 6pm. Half term itself can be a bit of a lottery for drop-in sessions, since party bookings sometimes take over, so if you're planning a spontaneous visit that week it's the one time to check what's actually running.

Parking's free on site for cars and bikes, and the whole place is wheelchair accessible with a pool lift and quiet sessions available for kids with complex needs. Birthday parties are on offer too, both pool and soft play versions, bookable in-centre or online.

Do we need to book?

Booking's needed for most sessions, either online or by calling the centre. Once it's booked it's final, there's no refund if you can't make it.
