What it’s like

Free to browse over 70 vintage, antique and retro stalls across three halls, with two cafés for a break between finds.

Three halls, more than 70 stalls, and no entry fee. That's the whole pitch here, and it's a decent one if you like poking through vintage bits and retro oddities without a plan. It's open on Wednesdays, Saturdays, Sundays and bank holiday Mondays, 9am to 4pm, so it's not a daily option but there are enough days in the week to catch it.

Give it a few hours if you want to actually work through all three halls properly. It's all indoors and step-free, so a buggy won't be a problem, and there's free parking on site which is one less thing to think about.

There are two cafés if browsing turns into a proper outing: Coffee by Candlelight does homemade cakes and hot and cold drinks, and Mad Hatters tearooms does sandwiches and cake alongside its drinks. Dogs are welcome too, if you're the sort of household that brings the dog along to everything.

Nobody's going to pretend this is built with kids in mind, but there's no entry charge, so if you fancy seeing whether they'll tolerate an hour of stall-browsing, it costs you nothing to find out.
