What it’s like

An adults' studio in Norwich for yoga, soundbaths, crystal and aromatherapy sessions, and the odd weekend retreat.

This one's for the grown-ups. There's no children's programme here, just a studio built around slowing down: yoga classes that move through physical practice, breath work and conscious relaxation, plus sound yoga sessions layered into the mix.

The soundbath is the thing to save for last if you're new to this. An hour lying down while Tibetan singing bowls, a gong and a shruti box do the work, and the site is upfront that it's not for everyone. If you've got a pacemaker, epilepsy, are in your first trimester, or take prescribed anti-psychotic medication, they ask you to sit that one out, and they want 24 to 48 hours without alcohol either side of a session. That's a fair bit to read before booking in, but it tells you they take the practice seriously rather than treating it as a spa gimmick.

Beyond the regular classes there's crystal healing, aromatherapy and restorative yoga workshops, and every so often a full wellness retreat built around yoga, nature connection and journaling. The retreat days are loosely structured: an opening circle, morning yoga, a walking meditation through How Hill Woods, a nature altar you build together, and a bedtime story to close things out. Everything on the retreat is optional, so you can dip into a session or spend the afternoon reading in the gardens instead.

Opening hours are a bit of a patchwork, evening sessions on Monday and Wednesday, shorter days Tuesday and Friday, a Saturday morning slot, and closed Thursday and Sunday. Worth checking which day suits before you plan around a particular class.

Plan your visit

Is this suitable for children?

No, it's an adults' wellbeing studio built around yoga, soundbaths and therapy sessions rather than a family activity.

What actually happens in a soundbath?

You lie down for about an hour while they play Tibetan singing bowls, gongs, chimes and a few other instruments, aiming for deep rest rather than anything active.

Can anyone attend a soundbath?

Not quite. They ask people with pacemakers, epilepsy, tinnitus, severe mental health conditions or who are in their first trimester to avoid it, and they want no alcohol for a day or two either side.

What's included on a wellness retreat?

Yoga, meditation, journaling and a walking meditation through How Hill Woods, alongside vegetarian food prepared by the on-site catering team throughout your stay. Every session is optional, so you can opt out and just explore the gardens or marshland instead.

What are the opening hours?

Monday and Wednesday run 10am to 8.30pm, Tuesday and Friday 10am to 5pm, Saturday 9.30am to 5pm, and it's closed Thursday and Sunday.
