What it’s like
A naturist club near Norwich where clothes come off and swimming, table tennis and woodland walks go on, for couples and families alike.
This is a naturist members' club, so the first thing to know is that it's clothing-free by design, not just clothing-optional. Families with children are welcomed alongside couples, and the site is set up for proper stays rather than a quick look round: touring caravans, motorhomes, tents and a handful of rental statics all have their own nightly rate, with electric hook-up charged separately if you need it.
Days are built around the heated covered pool, which they say usually runs from early April to towards the end of October. There's a rule worth knowing before you turn up: swimming costumes aren't allowed in the pool and you can't swim alone, so you'll want at least two adults in your group heading poolside together. Beyond the pool there's table tennis, tennis courts, petanque and a woodland walk, which doubles as the spot for dog walking since pets aren't allowed in the clubhouse, café or toilet blocks.
Costs stack up depending on how you're travelling. A touring caravan pitch is £35 a night, motorhomes and tents come in at £32, and up to two adults are included in that price with extra adults at £6 each. Children under 18 stay free, which softens the blow of the nightly rates a bit. You'll need to book online, put down a £20 refundable deposit for a gate card, and know that stays are capped at 15 nights, with a two-week break required after three consecutive maximum stays.
One genuine faff: cars have to come off the camping fields once you've set up and go into the car park instead, so plan your unloading before you park up properly. And if you're driving a caravan or motorhome, ignore the satnav on the way in, since it's been known to route people down narrow lanes with tight bends that were never built for towing.
