What it’s like
Outdoor activity centre near Norwich where groups try archery, kayaking, raft building and a climbing challenge across timed sessions.
This is a group booking sort of place rather than a turn-up-and-buy-a-ticket one. Think Scout and Guide troops, school groups, birthday parties, even Morris Dancers, all working through a day of archery, kayaking, canoeing, trapeze, crate stacking and raft building. The activity list reads like a proper away-day: buggy building and an obstacle course sit alongside indoor climbing, so a group of twelve can easily fill an afternoon without repeating themselves.
Sessions run in fixed slots, seven a day from half nine in the morning through to quarter to nine at night, each an hour and fifteen minutes long. That structure is handy for planning but it does mean you're working around their timetable rather than turning up whenever suits. Archery for a group of twelve comes in at £180, and a birthday party (also for twelve) runs £150 to £210 with an hour of marquee hire thrown in afterwards, which is a nice touch for cake and a sit down once everyone's done climbing things.
If you're staying over, accommodation is priced per person per night rather than per room. Scout and Guide groups get the cheaper rate at Iceni House, £17.50 a head, while general groups pay £23. Alpine Village is the budget option for Scout and Guide groups at £10 a night, though bedding isn't included so you'll need to bring your own or sort it separately.
Closed toe shoes are required for all activities, worth remembering if anyone's turned up in sandals. Final payment is due fourteen days before your booking starts, and if the weather looks like it'll cause problems they say they'll get in touch to discuss alternatives rather than just cancelling outright.
