What it’s like

A dance and drama school running ballet, street, musical theatre and singing classes, plus dance-themed birthday parties.

This is a proper dance school setup rather than a one-off day out: weekly classes in ballet, jazz, contemporary, commercial dance, musical theatre, singing and street dance, taught across the week from a base that's open Monday to Saturday, 9am to 10pm. If your child fancies trying something new, every new pupil gets one lesson free in any subject except private lessons, so you can test the water before committing to a term of leotards and tap shoes.

The birthday parties are the bit worth knowing about even if you're not signing up for regular classes. You get two hours: a full hour of dance taught by a qualified teacher, then an hour in the party area for food and drinks (you bring your own), plus a party bag for the birthday child and free run of the hot drinks machine for the grown-ups. It works out at £10 a head with a minimum of 10 children.

One thing to flag is the deposit. Securing a party date needs 50% up front, and if plans change you need to give 14 days' notice to get it back, minus a £20 admin fee. Not the most forgiving policy if your child's birthday plans have a habit of shifting.

There's parking, indoor seating and toilets on site, and it's shut on Sundays, so weekday evenings or Saturdays are your window for both classes and parties.
