What it’s like

Public skating sessions on a proper rink, with a Wee Ones slot for the smallest skaters and an Ice Disco for the ones who think they're too cool for skating lessons.

The rink runs a proper timetable rather than one long free-for-all session. There's Wee Ones Skate for the youngest visitors, Relaxed Skate for anyone who wants a gentler pace, and an Ice Disco slot for when the kids want lights and music with their wobbling. Public sessions run most days in blocks of an hour to an hour and a half, so you're not stuck there all afternoon if the first ten minutes tells you it's not going to happen.

The timetable is worth a proper look before you set off, because it shifts day to day. Tuesday and Wednesday keep it simple with two slots, but Friday stretches to five separate sessions and Saturday adds an evening one, while Sunday's just the one window at half twelve. If you're working around a nap or a school run, matching your visit to the right slot matters more here than at most soft play centres.

Parking's the easy part. Over 4,500 spaces on site and it's free, which is one less thing to think about when you've already wrangled skates, gloves and a small person who's changed their mind about wanting to go. Blue badge parking is there too, and there's food on site if the whole outing needs finishing off with chips.

Plan your visit

How much does it cost?

Prices aren't something we can quote here, but the session structure means you're paying for a set block of time rather than an open-ended visit.

Do we need to book ahead?

There's no booking link listed, so it looks like a turn up and pay situation rather than needing to reserve a slot.

Is there a session for really young kids?

Wee Ones Skate is aimed at the youngest visitors, separate from the general public sessions.

What if my child would rather not do a full-on skate?

Relaxed Skate is the slower-paced option, worth picking over a busier public session if it's a first go on the ice.

Is parking easy?

Yes. Free parking on site with over 4,500 spaces, plus blue badge parking.
