What it’s like
Eighteen holes across Polar, Jungle and Desert zones, with a whale skeleton and a serpent to putt past along the way.
You're working your way through 22 holes split into three zones, so there's a proper story to the round rather than just a flat green. Polar has seven holes with a polar bear, sea lions and penguins to dodge, Jungle brings eight holes with a blue whale skeleton, and Desert closes things out with a serpent lurking somewhere on the last seven. It's outdoors and built for ages 3 and up, and younger toddlers are welcome too as long as someone's watching them closely near the water features and rockwork.
A round takes about 50 minutes for two courses, which feels about right before a three-year-old's attention wanders. Pricing is per player rather than per family. There's no family ticket, which stings a bit if you're bringing the whole crew along.
Pushchairs and wheelchairs are both fine on the course, and the Polar and Jungle zones are wheelchair-friendly specifically. Parking's free and there's plenty of it. You can bring your own water bottle but everything else, food and other drinks, comes from the on-site café bar, so factor that into the budget if you're stopping for lunch too.
Booking online is the way in, and worth doing ahead rather than turning up on spec. Being outdoors, the course can close in particularly bad weather, which is fair enough given the safety hazards on the greens, but it's an annoyance if you've built a wet Tuesday around it.
