What it’s like
Laser tag games for kids seven and up, booked by phone, with party packages if you can rustle up at least eight players.
This one's straightforward: you book a laser tag session, kit up and chase each other round in the dark for a game or two. It's £5.50 for one game on weekdays, £6 at weekends, or you can do two games for a bit less per game if you're going to make an afternoon of it. Nobody under 7 gets to play, so this is one for the older end of the school run rather than a toddler outing.
Parties are where it gets interesting. The Standard party gets you 2 games, a meal, a drink and a t-shirt over 2 hours from £13 a head, or the Ultimate stretches to 3 games, food, an extra drink, cake and a photo over 3 hours from £17 a head, a bit more at weekends. The catch is you need a minimum of 8 players to book a party at all, so this isn't one for a small friendship group, you'll need to pad the numbers out. Book 20 or more and you get the whole game exclusively, which is worth knowing if you want the place to yourselves rather than sharing with strangers.
Everything runs by appointment, and there's no online booking, so you're calling up between 9am and 11pm to sort a slot. Deposits are £50 for under 20 players or £100 for bigger bookings, which is the sort of thing you want sorted before you start telling eight sets of parents to save the date.
