What it’s like

Structured art classes and holiday workshops for 6 to 18 year olds, with small groups and a proper teacher-student ratio.

This is a proper art studio rather than a drop-in paint-your-own-mug spot. Kids join weekly term-time classes that build skills over weeks, working through a curriculum designed by artists and educators rather than freestyle painting. There's a 7:1 teacher to student ratio, which for £30-40 birthday parties or ongoing terms is a decent sign that nobody's getting lost in a crowd.

Holiday workshops are the quicker option if you don't want a term commitment: a full project done in two hours, with what the studio calls a social atmosphere rather than quiet concentration. Term classes are the opposite pace. Starter projects take two to three weeks to finish and main projects can run six weeks or more, so this suits a child who'll stick with something rather than one who wants instant results to take home that day.

One thing to know before booking a trial: parents aren't allowed inside during classes, so you're waiting outside or coming back later rather than watching. Materials are all included, but aprons aren't provided or stored.

Birthday parties run either in-studio at 2 hours 45 minutes or off-site at 1.5 to 2 hours, with acrylic painting, tote bag design and watercolour among the activities on offer, and pricing depends on which option you pick.

Parties
Birthday parties for ages 6+ in-studio (2 hours 45 minutes) or off-site (1.5-2 hours)
  • Parents can't stay inside during classes, so plan to wait elsewhere or drop and go
  • Bring your own apron, as they're not provided or stored on site
  • Trial sessions are paid, not free, to cover staff and materials
  • Finished artwork can take weeks to come home on main projects, so don't expect something to take away straight after a term class

Plan your visit

What ages is this for?

Six to eighteen, with trials considered for children turning six that month. Individual tutoring within group sessions covers the age range in one class.

Do we need to book a trial first?

Yes, and it's a paid trial rather than a free taster. Booking the trial holds your spot for the term, though unconfirmed bookings are released 72 hours afterwards.

What if we miss a class?

Each student gets up to five make-up sessions a term, subject to availability. They need booking within the same term as the missed class.

How do birthday parties work?

In-studio parties run 2 hours 45 minutes, off-site ones run 1.5 to 2 hours, and prices sit between £30 and £40 per child depending on location. Kids do activities like acrylic painting, mixed media and watercolour and take their art home.
