What it’s like

Trampolines, go-karting and a proper soft play maze under one roof, with sessions capped so nobody outstays the queue for the slide.

The go-karts are the bit that sells this one. Superhero-themed bikes with LED lights, indoor 5-a-side football, plus the usual trampolines, slides and obstacles for the bigger kids. Toddlers get their own sensory corner and a mini explore zone, so a two-year-old isn't getting mown down by an eight-year-old on a bike.

Adult entry is £1, which is refreshingly cheap compared with most soft play, and you don't need to book unless you're bringing more than five children. Weekends and holidays run in fixed slots, 10 to 12, 12 to 2, 2:30 to 4:30 and 5 to 6:30, so you know exactly what you're getting for your money. Term time weekdays are more relaxed, walk in when you like, but you're still capped at two hours.

There's an in-house café doing hot and cold food with halal options, and parking on site is free, which takes the sting out of the entry price a bit. One faff worth knowing: you can't bring your own food or drink in, birthday cake aside, and even then it has to be eaten outside the play centre rather than at the table.

If you're doing a party, the VIP option gets you 80 minutes of play and 40 minutes of lunch with a host and buffet included, though it's £14.95 a head and you need at least 10 kids to book it. There's also an exclusive private hire option in the evening, but that one's bring-your-own-everything, catering, cleaning, the lot, and nobody's supervising the kids for you.
