Theme Parks & Fairgrounds in Newcastle
If you're after theme parks right in Newcastle, there isn't one on the books yet. What's here is a longer trip out to York, and specifically to Duncombe Park Country Fair, a one-day country fair with funfair rides, archery and axe throwing, held over the May Bank Holiday. It's not a permanent park you can turn up to any weekend, so the date matters more than the postcode. It's dog friendly, there's food on site and parking is sorted, which makes it an easier day than it sounds for that distance. Older kids will get more out of the archery and axe throwing than toddlers will, though the funfair rides give younger ones something too. Given it's a single day a year, it's one to pencil into the calendar rather than save for a rainy Saturday.
