Skate Parks & BMX Tracks in Manchester
Two options here, and they suit different moods. Platt Fields Park BMX Track sits close to the centre and has a five-metre start hill with a proper jump track, but you book a session rather than just turning up, so it's one to plan ahead for. Marple Skatepark, out in Stockport, is the other end of the scale: free, always open, concrete, and set up for skateboards, BMX bikes and scooters alike. If your child just wants to roll up and ride without booking anything, Marple is the easier bet and costs nothing. If they're keen on proper jumps and a start hill, Platt Fields is worth the booking faff, and being close to the centre it's simple to reach by public transport. Both are outdoor, so check the weather before you set off, and Platt Fields has bike parking if you're cycling there.
