Go-Karting in Leicester

Leicester has proper outdoor karting close to the centre, not just the shopping-centre kind. Stretton Circuit puts kids from 8 onto a 950m floodlit track for real go-karts, and TeamSport Go Karting Leicester does the indoor version on a 500m multi-level circuit, with a Mini Racer session for younger ones and mini golf if anyone needs a breather. Sutton Circuit, out at Sutton in the Elms, offers practice heats or sprint races booked by the minute, from £22. For younger children, TeamSport's Mini Racer is the one to try before they're old enough for full karts. Stretton is the choice for genuine outdoor racing from age 8, priced from £25, while Sutton Circuit works out cheaper if you don't mind booking ahead. If you fancy proper 50mph and 70mph racing once the kids are older, Daytona in Tamworth allows karting from age 6, though it is a longer trip out from Leicester. All of these need booking in advance, so sort that before you go.
