Ice Rinks in Derby

Skating in Derby means one thing at the moment: the covered outdoor rink that pops up in the Market Place every winter. Cathedral Quarter Ice Rink runs from late November to New Year, with sessions from £9, right in the centre and easy to reach with wheelchair access and toilets on site. If you fancy a bigger day out, Nottingham Winter Wonderland is a drive out to Nottingham's Old Market Square. Entry to the site itself is free, so you can wander the market stalls without spending a penny, then pay separately for skating, Sky Skate or the Observation Wheel. It's card only there, so leave the cash at home. For most families, Derby's own rink wins on convenience and price; Nottingham's the one to pick if you want to make an afternoon of it with food stalls and extras thrown in.
