Scouts, Guides, Cadets & Youth Clubs in Stoke-on-Trent

If your child fancies climbing, canoeing or sleeping in a tent for the first time, Stoke has two solid starting points. St. John's Heron Cross Scouts, close to the centre, takes children from age 4 right up to 25, and the focus is on doing rather than just talking about it: climbing, canoeing and abseiling all feature. Out at Stone, Kibblestone Scout Campsite is a group site where youth groups spend a few days abseiling, axe throwing, crate stacking and pond dipping, with parking, toilets and on-site food laid on. For a weekly club feel, the Heron Cross group is the one to try first given its age range and location near the centre. If your family is after a residential trip rather than a term-time meeting, Kibblestone is built for that, though it needs booking ahead and works best for an organised group rather than a single family turning up. Both are outdoor and activity-led rather than classroom-based, so wellies are a better bet than best clothes.
