What it’s like

An hour of bouncing, walls to run up, an air bag to launch into, plus a soft play corner for the smaller ones.

The main arena is where the hour goes: trampolines wall to wall, a Jump Tower, Wipeout, the Cardio Wall and an air bag to throw yourself into. There's a Walk the Wall for the ones trying to defy gravity and a giant slide and basketball area for when arms need a rest. Under 16s need an adult in the building the whole session, no popping to the shops while they bounce, which is a bit of a faff if you were hoping for an hour to yourself, but that's the rule.

Sessions are a strict 60 minutes and they want you there 15 minutes early for the safety briefing, so factor that in or you'll eat into your own jump time. A standard hour is £12, or you can go for a Family Session at £8.50 adult and £7.50 child, which is worth it if you're jumping alongside a younger one since under 5s can only get on the main arena during those sessions with an adult next to them. If the strobe lighting and loud music sound like overkill for a two-year-old, the Rainbow Sessions drop the effects for a calmer bounce.

Grip socks are £2.80 and compulsory, but they're yours to keep and bring back next time, so it's a one-off cost rather than a tax on every visit. Soft play covers 0 to 10 years and is priced by age band, starting at £1 for babies under a year, which makes it an easy add-on if you've got a mixed-age group and one of them isn't bouncing height yet. The Xtreme Cafe does hot food, toasties, baked potatoes and slushies, and there's three hours of free parking in the Kingdom Shopping Centre car parks, plenty for a jump session plus lunch after.

Booking's online and they'll want a waiver filled in, which stays valid for six months so you're not re-doing it every single visit. The safety video is a rewatch every time though, however many times you've been. Birthday parties run from age 5, with slots at 10:30am and 2:15pm, and packages start at £190 for 10 jumpers.

Plan your visit

How long do we actually get on the trampolines?

60 minutes, but turn up 15 minutes early for the safety briefing or that eats into your hour.

How much does it cost?

£12 for a standard hour session. Family Sessions work out cheaper at £8.50 for an adult and £7.50 for a child.

Do we need to book ahead?

They want everyone booked online before arriving rather than turning up on spec.

Can a toddler jump?

Over 2s can get on the main arena during Family Sessions if an adult's jumping with them. There's also soft play for 0 to 10 year olds if bouncing isn't quite their thing yet.

Do under 16s need an adult with them?

An adult has to be in the building for the entire session, not just dropping them off.

What's with the socks?

Trampoline socks are compulsory at £2.80 a pair, but you keep them and bring the same pair back next time.

Is it loud with flashing lights?

Standard sessions have loud music and strobe lighting, no smoke though. If that's not going to work for your crowd, the Rainbow Sessions are the calmer option.

Do we watch the safety video every visit?

Every time, regardless of how many visits you've clocked up. It gets emailed to you after booking too.

What about food?

The Xtreme Cafe does hot food, toasties, baked potatoes, cakes and slushies.

Where do we park?

Three hours free in the Kingdom Shopping Centre car parks, which should cover a jump and some lunch.

Is there wheelchair access?

The front door's wheelchair accessible, along with access points around the Kingdom Shopping Centre.

Can we book a birthday party?

Yes, for age 5 and up, with slots at 10:30am and 2:15pm. Packages start from £190 for 10 jumpers.
