Worlds End
WHERE
Brighton
What it’s like
Arcade games, a racing circuit and an escape room under one roof, with a restaurant for when the credits run out.
This one's built around three things: arcade machines to feed coins into, World's Raceway for anyone who fancies themselves behind a wheel, and an escape room if you want to book a slot and actually think for an hour instead of just pressing buttons. It's the kind of mix that works whether you've got twenty minutes to kill or you're settling in for the evening.
Hours shift a fair bit through the week, so it pays to know before you go. Monday and Tuesday it doesn't open until 5pm, but from Wednesday it's open from midday, and Friday and Saturday it stays open until 1am, which tells you this leans as much towards a night out as a daytime one.
The Last Bite restaurant on site does locally sourced meat, and its hours don't quite match the venue's own opening times, running Monday to Friday 5 to 9pm, Saturday 12 to 10pm and Sunday 12 to 9pm. Worth timing your visit around that if food is part of the plan, especially early in the week when the kitchen opens later than the arcade floor does.
The escape room is the bit worth saving for last if you're doing a full session, since it's a change of pace from the arcade games and the raceway.
