What it’s like
A working rescue farm where you walk right up to the stable yard and meet the horses in for care.
This isn't a farm with a bouncy castle and a tractor ride bolted on. It's a proper rescue centre, and the main event is walking into the stable yard and meeting the horses being cared for there, nose to nose if they're feeling sociable. There are play areas too, so it's not all standing and looking, but the yard is the bit that'll get talked about on the way home.
Beyond the yard there are farm walks, up to four miles if you fancy it, with shorter routes marked out for anyone with a buggy or short legs that give up after twenty minutes. It's open ground, dog friendly, wheelchair and pushchair accessible.
Booking's required, every visit, which does mean you can't just decide on a whim on a sunny Tuesday and turn up. Once that's sorted though it's straightforward: weekends year round, plus Wednesdays in the school holidays, when they run something called Wacky Wednesday. Opening hours are 11 till 4.
There's a café on site for when the walking's done and everyone wants sitting down and feeding.

Plan your visit
Do we need to book?
You do, every visit needs booking in advance rather than turning up on the day.
What is there to actually do?
You walk the farm trails, up to four miles with shorter marked routes, and meet the horses in the stable yard. There are play areas as well.
What are the opening hours?
Weekends 11am to 4pm, plus Wednesdays during school holidays for Wacky Wednesday.
Can we bring the dog?
It's dog friendly, so bring the lead.
Is it buggy and wheelchair friendly?
Both. The site is pushchair friendly and wheelchair accessible, and the shorter walking routes make sense if you've got wheels to push.
Is there food there?
There's a café on site for afterwards.
