Blackwater Farm Cross Country Course
ENTRY
from £5
WHERE
Norwich
What it’s like
A cross-country course of woodland tracks, banks and water jumps, with dressage and showjumping to watch from the car.
This is a working equestrian venue rather than a petting farm, so the day out here is watching riders tackle a proper cross-country course through woodland, over banks, through pits and into water jumps. There's dressage and showjumping too, if you fancy a bit of variety alongside the jumping.
Spectator entry is £5 if you're on your own, £10 if the car's full, which works out well if you bring a few people rather than turning up solo. Booking's needed, so this isn't a spontaneous Saturday morning decision, you'll want to sort that ahead of time.
It's dog friendly, leads on and poop scoop in hand, and the site says it's wheelchair accessible too, so it's not a bad shout if you want to bring the dog along and watch some horses do impressive things over water.
There's no petting or hands-on animal bit here, so if you're picturing goats and guinea pigs, this isn't that kind of farm visit. It suits anyone who likes watching horses jump big things rather than feeding small ones.
