Salhouse Farm Shop & Cafe
WHERE
Norwich
What it’s like
A farm shop and deli café near Norwich to wander round, with Breakfast with Santa sessions in December.
This one is less about a big farm experience and more about a proper browse and a decent sit-down. The shop and deli are the main event, so it suits a slower morning where the kids potter about while you actually get to look at what's on the shelves rather than being dragged past it.
December is when it comes into its own. They run Breakfast with Santa sessions and stay open every day that month bar Christmas Day itself, which makes it a handy stop if you want a festive outing that isn't a full-blown Santa's grotto production.
It's open 9am to 3pm every day, so this is very much a daytime visit rather than an evening one. Walk-ins are always fine if there's under six of you, but if you're going as a bigger group, say a birthday gathering or a few families together, they do want you to book ahead. Dogs are welcome on leads, and there's even a doggy menu on the café side, which is a nice touch if the family day out includes the family dog.
