The garden is the main event here. Kids follow a themed treasure hunt around it, hunt out fairy letters, and there's a proper garden walk to go with it rather than just a quick trot round. Alongside that there's crafting, either in the craft room or the outdoor crafting area, so a rainy patch doesn't put a stop to things.

It's open Friday and Saturday plus bank holiday Mondays, 10:30am to 4:30pm, which is a fairly narrow window if you're trying to fit it round a weekend. Craft sessions run at £10 a person, dropping to £9 each if you're coming as part of a party of six or more, so it's worth rounding up a few friends if you can.

For a birthday, £160 gets you exclusive use of the garden for two hours, treasure hunt and fairy letters included. That's the one to go for if you want the space to yourselves rather than sharing it with other visitors. There are party rooms and toilets on site, so the practical side of hosting is sorted without you having to think about it.
