What it’s like
Peer into a walled-garden model village of 75+ buildings, mini railway and canal - free, donations to charity.
Wander a listed walled garden and peer into Wiston-le-Dale: over 75 miniature buildings, a castle, wharf, mill, church, shops and cottages, with a landscaped railway, canal and tiny trees to finish the scene.
Entry is free; donations go to Rainbows Children's Hospice and the Sir Andrew Martin Trust (over £20,000 given since 1996). Open with Bailey's Plant Centre Mon-Sat 9:00-17:00 and Sunday 10:30-16:30. Approach through the plant centre at Wistow Rural Centre, LE8 0QF.
Honest trade-offs: this is a walk-round model village, not a ride-on railway, and the maize maze across the road is a separate seasonal attraction (closed for 2026). Pair it with the cafe and shops on site for an easy half-day.
