What it’s like
Stroke the farm animals, paint some pottery and, come October, pick your own pumpkin from the stable courtyard.
The animals are the main event here, though there are no donkeys or ponies on this farm so don't promise your toddler a pony ride on the way in. Stroking and meeting the animals is the core of a visit, and there's pottery painting to fill the quieter half hour when little hands need a sit-down job instead of a running-about one.
October is when this place earns its keep. The Pumpkin Patch runs from the 10th to the 11th and then the 16th through to the 31st, and it's set up in a stable courtyard rather than a muddy field, which the farm is quite clear about. That said, they still tell you to bring wellies, because puddles find their way in regardless. It's an outdoor event and they go ahead in the rain, so don't cancel your plans over a grey forecast.
There's a café and on-site food if you need to break up the visit, and both indoor and outdoor play to fall back on if the animal-meeting phase of the day wraps up faster than expected. Birthday parties run Monday to Saturday, morning or afternoon, and include an animal encounter with reptiles or small animals alongside a party room and lunch, from £11.50 a guest.
One to note: it's closed on Sundays and Bank Holiday Mondays, which catches people out if you're used to farm visits being a weekend default. Last entry is 3:30pm, so a late-afternoon dash after school pickup won't work. Dogs aren't allowed on site apart from trained assistance dogs, so this isn't a bring-the-dog kind of outing.

Plan your visit
What can the kids actually do?
Meet and stroke the farm animals (no donkeys or ponies here), paint their own pottery, and in October pick and carve pumpkins.
Is it open on Sundays?
No, it's closed on Sundays and on Bank Holiday Mondays. Monday to Saturday, 10am to 4pm, with last entry at 3:30pm.
Do we need to book?
You can pre-book online before 10am on the day of your visit for an exclusive discount, so it's worth sorting before you set off.
Will the Pumpkin Patch be muddy?
It's held in a stable courtyard so it isn't a muddy field, but they still recommend wellies because puddles turn up anyway.
What happens if it rains?
It goes ahead. They describe themselves as an outdoor event used to all weather, rain or shine.
Can we bring the dog?
Only trained assistance dogs are allowed on the farm or the Pumpkin Patch.
