What it’s like
A working farm where you can meet free range hens and alpacas, then pick your own strawberries and raspberries.
This is one of those farms where the animals come first and the extras are just a bonus. You'll find free range hens wandering about, plus alpacas, sheep and pygmy goats to say hello to. It's the sort of unhurried, hands-on visit where kids get to actually be near the animals rather than watch them through a fence.
The other big draw is the fruit picking. Strawberries and raspberries are there for the taking, which is a nice way to turn a farm visit into something with a bit of a task attached, something to fill a basket with and argue about who ate more than they picked.
It's open every day from 8am right up to 6:30pm, so there's no need to rush a morning visit or worry about squeezing it in after a late breakfast. That long window makes it easy to fit around nap times or a lazy start to the day.
There's not much fuss to the place from what they list, just animals to meet and fruit to pick, which suits a morning where you don't want to be organising your day around a timed session.
