What it’s like

Toy tractors, a zipline and bouncy pillows to bounce out the whole morning, with a café and pizzeria on site.

The outdoor play is the whole point here. There's a proper climbing frame, a zipline, swings, a sandpit and bouncy pillows to bounce the energy out of anyone under about ten, plus toy tractors for the smaller ones who just want to pedal about. It's the sort of outdoor setup where you can let a seven-year-old range a bit while you keep half an eye from a bench.

Food is the one rule worth knowing before you go. You can't bring your own picnic in, everything eaten on site has to come from the café or the pizzeria. The pizzeria only fires up Monday to Saturday, with no pizzas at all on a Sunday, so if that's the plan for lunch, go earlier in the week. Kitchen hours run 9am to 2.30pm and then 6pm to 9pm most days, so there's a gap in the afternoon to plan around.

Opening hours are 9 to 5 Monday to Saturday and a shorter 10 to 4 on Sundays, and it's worth knowing the farm park closes when the café does. They mention admission can be refused if you turn up after the café's shut, so this isn't one to leave to the last half hour.

5pm Monday to Saturday and 4pm on Sundays, though the farm closes in step with the café.

Better not to. They say admission may be refused once the café has closed for the day.
