What it’s like
Hand feed alpacas on a short farm walk, then settle in for a picnic with them by your side.
You get ninety minutes here in total, with about fifteen of those spent on foot walking the alpacas round the farmland. It's hands-on: you're feeding them as you go, not just looking at them over a fence. After the walk there's a picnic session, and this is the bit where nervous kids often come round, since staff are on hand to help shy ones get involved once the animals have settled.
Bring your own food. They don't provide the picnic, so pack what your kids will actually eat rather than what looks good in a hamper. Wear trousers rather than shorts, and proper shoes, since the ground's rough and uneven and wet weather makes it worse. Leave the umbrella at home too, it startles the alpacas.
Buggies don't work on the walk part, the terrain's too rough, so if you've got a little one still in a pram you'll need to carry them or wait for the picnic session, which is wheelchair friendly even though the walk itself isn't. There are accessible toilets on site either way.
One thing to know before you book: there's no refunds or date changes unless the weather turns properly unsafe, and sessions run in small groups with very limited tickets, so a change of plan means selling or gifting your spot to someone else rather than getting your money back. Worth picking a date you're fairly sure of.

Plan your visit
Can we bring a pushchair?
Not on the walk, the ground's too rough and uneven. You'd need to carry a little one or stick to the picnic session instead.
What if it rains?
They go ahead in most weather, alpacas don't mind it much. It's only cancelled if conditions are properly unsafe, and then you're offered another date.
Do you provide the picnic?
No, you bring your own food. Pack what the kids will actually eat.
Can we get a refund if plans change?
There aren't any refunds or date swaps unless the weather makes it unsafe to run. You can sell or gift your ticket on though.
Is it wheelchair accessible?
The walk isn't suitable for wheelchairs because of the rough ground, but the picnic sessions are set up so wheelchair users can join in fully. There are accessible toilets on site.
