Bishop's Court Farm

Wallingford
What it’s like
Walk an alpaca, meet the sheep and goats, then warm up with a proper coffee at the farm's own café.
Alpaca walking is the thing everyone comes for, and it's easy to see why once you picture your kids leading one round the paddocks on a lead. Beyond that there's a proper working farm to wander, with sheep, goats and horses to say hello to, so you're not just doing one activity and heading home.
Time it right and you can catch the Lambing Open Days, which is the sort of thing that turns a normal farm visit into the one they talk about for weeks. There are also Bee Awareness Courses if you fancy something a bit different, though that's more for the grown-ups or an older, curious kid than a toddler in wellies.
The Snug Café does fresh, seasonal, locally sourced food with vegetarian options. Dogs are welcome on leads around the farm and even inside the café under their Three Bark Rule, which is a nice touch if you're bringing the family dog along too.
Parking's free on-site, which takes one worry off the list. If you're coming without a car, there's a bus from Oxford to Dorchester-on-Thames with a short walk from there, or a taxi from Didcot Parkway if you're arriving by train.
