What it’s like
Swimming and a gym under one roof, with junior swim tickets at £4.40 and free parking on site.
Swimming is the main draw, and the pricing makes it an easy one to plan around. A family ticket covering two adults and two juniors is £18, or you can pay separately: £6.40 for an adult, £4.40 for a junior, and the same £4.40 rate if you're over 60. There's a gym too, with a junior day pass at £3.50, which is the cheapest single price on the whole list and worth knowing about if you've got a teenager who wants to tag along.
Registration is free and you don't need to sort it before you turn up. It's quicker if you do it online through the Volair website or app first, but they're happy to register you on the spot for your first visit. Booking works the same way for most activities, though facility hire and some community bookings need to go through their bookings team directly rather than the app.
Gym sessions generally don't need booking at all, unless you're going at a peak time or it's a special session, in which case it's worth checking with the centre first. Parking is free on site, which takes one cost out of the equation, and lockers are there if you need somewhere to leave your things while you swim.
Opening hours are listed as 9am to 5pm daily, so it's not a place for an early morning or late evening swim, but it does give you a solid window through the middle of the day.
