What it’s like

A big-arena venue for touring shows and gigs, ten minutes' walk from Central Station, with accessible seating you actually need to plan ahead for.

This is a proper arena, so what your kids do here depends entirely on what's booked in, a touring show, a big pop act, a family spectacular. There's no soft play or hands-on bit to point to, it's tiered seating and a stage, which suits kids old enough to sit through something rather than toddlers who need to move about.

Getting in is straightforward if you plan for it. It's ten minutes on foot from Central Station and the Metro, and there's parking on site for over 600 cars, though you pay through the Ringgo app rather than handing over cash at a barrier, worth having the app sorted before you arrive rather than fumbling with it in a queue. Tickets are digital only through the AXS app, and if that's not your thing you can still get sorted at the box office on the night with ID and your order confirmation.

If anyone in your group needs an accessible spot, book early. You need either a free AXS Digital Access Pass or a paid Access Card to get accessible tickets online, and the accessible booking line gets hammered when big shows go on sale. Once you're in, wheelchairs are available to borrow for the walk to your seat and there's a hearing loop, but there's no cloakroom, so anything bulky like a pushchair or a big coat has to go to a Stasher point nearby at your own expense, a proper faff if you weren't expecting it.

Don't bring food in, and don't bring glow sticks, balloons or wheeled shoes either, they're all on the no list. Arrive with time to spare for security and ticket checks, since the venue is upfront that latecomers risk missing the start.

Plan your visit

Is this OK for a toddler?

Not really the venue for it. It's tiered seating for a show or gig, so it suits kids who can sit still rather than little ones who want to run about.

Can we bring snacks in?

No, food isn't allowed in with you. Plan on eating before or after instead.

What's the parking like?

Over 600 spaces on site, but you pay through the Ringgo app rather than a machine, so get the app down before you arrive.

We need accessible seats, what's the process?

You'll need a free AXS Digital Access Pass or an Access Card to book online, and the phone line gets busy fast when tickets go on sale, so book online if you can.

Is there anywhere to leave a buggy or big bag?

Not at the venue itself. There's no cloakroom, so bulky items go to a nearby Stasher point and you pay for the privilege.
