Tulleys Farm
WHERE
Crawley
What it’s like
A seasonal farm site with escape rooms, a pumpkin festival, a scare event and a Christmas light trail, plus a year-round tea room.
This is really several different days out on the same patch of ground, depending on when you turn up. There are five themed escape rooms running as a permanent fixture, which the site calls award-winning, so if your family is into puzzles rather than pumpkins that's worth building a visit around on its own. Then the calendar takes over: Pumpkin Valley opens for the Pumpkin Festival, Shocktober Fest brings four new attractions for 2026, and later in the year the farm turns into the Christmas Light Festival and the Tulleys Christmas Experience with a new show for 2026.
That spread of events means it suits a real mix of ages across the year rather than one age group all the time. The pumpkin picking side reads as the gentler, daytime option for younger children, while Shocktober Fest sounds like it leans toward older kids and teenagers who want to be properly spooked. The escape rooms are described as elaborate rather than a quick five-minute gimmick, so budget more than a passing few minutes if you book one in.
Food-wise, the Tulleys Tea Room is open year-round with hot and cold food, homemade cakes and drinks, so you're not relying on a single festival to feed everyone. Dogs can join you in the Tea Room's garden and courtyard on a lead, though they're not allowed inside the Tea Room itself, and only assistance dogs are permitted at the actual events. Most of the events are described as fully wheelchair accessible, and Shocktober Fest specifically has an accessible ride with ramps, with free carer tickets for disabled visitors.
One small logistical note if you're arriving by taxi: the drop-off point changes depending on what's on. For pumpkins or tulips you ask for the Old Maze Site, and for the sunflowers you ask for Tulleys Sunflowers specifically.
