What it’s like

Tufting workshops where you make your own fluffy rug or soft décor piece to take home.

This one's a tufting studio, so instead of painting a mug you're making an actual rug. They talk you through the tufting gun and you end up with a handmade soft and fluffy piece of décor, whether that's a small rug or something more like wall art.

It runs seven days a week, 10am to 6pm, and you do need to book ahead, at least 12 hours before your slot. That's a bit of a faff if you fancy a spontaneous Saturday craft session, so this one needs a bit of planning rather than a walk-in.

Groups are the obvious way in here. They do birthday parties and hen dos, and corporate sessions run for groups of up to 6 people. If you've got a crafty kid who'd rather make something to keep than eat cake and run around, a small group booking is probably the move.

There's no age range listed on the studio's own site, so it's worth thinking about whether your child has the patience for a proper making session before you book, rather than assuming it's suited to younger ones.
