What it’s like
Wheel throwing and handbuilding courses for adults, plus private parties, but this one's honest that it's not set up for kids' pottery painting.
This is a proper working studio rather than a paint-your-own-mug café, so what you're booking into is wheel throwing, handbuilding or a glaze chemistry workshop rather than a quick session with a toddler and a plate. The site is straight about it too: if you're after children's pottery painting, they point you elsewhere and name a couple of other studios instead of trying to squeeze kids into their own courses.
Where it does work for a family is the private party option, handbuilding for 6 to 20 people or wheel throwing for up to 8, both two hours and £360. That's a decent option for an older child's birthday who fancies getting their hands dirty rather than another soft play do, but it's a group booking rather than a drop-in, and you'll want to sort numbers in advance.
Everything here runs on a booking system, no exceptions, and the 12-week courses follow school terms three times a year, so timing matters if you're planning around half term. Whatever you make, you're not walking out with it that day. Pieces need firing in the kiln, which takes about a month, and they'll hold your finished work for up to two months before it gets cleared.
Parking's easy, a few spaces right outside plus free on-street parking nearby, and the studio has ramp access and an accessible toilet, though a couple of the door fittings are the factory style and might need a hand.

Can my child do a normal pottery painting session here?
Not really, this studio doesn't run children's pottery painting classes and points parents towards other studios nearby, like Pottery Corner in Chorlton or Brooklyn Pottery in Stockport.
Can we just turn up?
No walk-ins, everything has to be booked in advance through their online booking area.
How much does it cost?
Courses start from £150 for a 2-day taster, up to £450 for the 12-week wheel throwing course. Private parties are £360.
Is there parking?
A few spaces on the forecourt right outside, plus free on-street parking nearby.
How do we get the finished pottery?
You'll wait about a month for firing, then collect during opening hours, no need to email ahead. They keep pieces for up to two months before clearing space.
Is it wheelchair accessible?
Ground floor ramp access and an accessible toilet. Some of the door fittings are factory style and might need a hand, worth mentioning any access needs when you book.
Do you do birthday parties?
Handbuilding parties take 6 to 20 people and wheel throwing takes up to 8, both two-hour sessions at £360.
When are classes on?
Term time hours are Monday to Thursday 1pm to 9pm, Saturday 10am to 4pm and Sunday 10am to 8pm. Friday's closed, and the 12-week courses run three times a year in line with school terms.
