What it’s like

A café with a small play corner for the kids and a proper menu for the grown-ups, open weekday daytimes only.

There's a small children's play area tucked into the café, so it's less a soft play trip and more somewhere you can get a coffee and a baked potato while a toddler pottters about nearby. It's not built for a big group of kids to tear around, but if you've got one small one to keep occupied while you eat, it does the job.

The food side is the stronger draw. There's a proper spread, soups, baked potatoes, pastries, breakfasts, and a children's menu alongside it. It reads more like a café you'd choose for the food first and the play area as a bonus, rather than the other way round.

Worth knowing before you plan around it: it's only open Monday to Friday, 9am to 3pm, so no weekend visits and nothing after mid-afternoon. That rules it out as an after-school stop, but it fits neatly into a weekday morning or lunchtime with a preschooler.

One nice touch from the site is a Pay it Forward scheme, where you can buy a voucher for someone else who needs it. It's a small detail but it says something about the place.
