What it’s like
Soft play, messy play and glow sessions in Plymouth, with superhero and princess visits you can book by the half hour.
Term-time mornings and a couple of afternoons are set aside for soft play, messy play and role-play areas, the kind of session where a toddler can go from the ball pit to the dressing-up box without you having to referee much. There's a sensory room too, and glow play sessions get a proper theming for Halloween on the 24th and 25th of October, and again for Christmas on the 12th, 13th and 20th of December.
If you're planning a birthday, the Stay & Play party gets you two hours of venue hire for £125, with an hour and a half of exclusive use of the soft play and role-play areas and a party room for up to 12 children. You bring your own food, which keeps costs down but is one more thing to sort. Character visits are the bit kids will talk about after: a superhero or princess turning up for 30 minutes starts at £75 for one character and climbs to £225 for four, or you can stretch it to an hour and a half with four characters for £320. Worth knowing the per-character price covers up to 30 children if it's at your own home, or 12 if it's held at the venue.
Character visits run Saturdays all day, Sunday mornings, school holidays and as after-school parties in term time, so there's more flexibility than the weekend-only slots suggest. Everything here needs booking ahead, and it's worth reading the party terms closely: deposits are non-refundable, and the remaining balance is due at least a week before, with no refund going after that's paid. Christmas brings elf visits on the 23rd and 24th of December, running for an hour and a half, which feels like the one to grab early given how term-time slots fill.
