The Little Town of Play Batley
ENTRY
from £8.25
WHERE
Batley
What it’s like
A miniature role-play town with eleven pretend shops and services for kids to dress up and run themselves.
This isn't a climbing frame and slide setup, it's a little town: a pet clinic, a supermarket, a hospital, a café, a school room, an ice cream van, a picnic area, a city farm, a garage, a builder's yard and a theatre, all sized for kids to dress up and play shopkeeper, vet or doctor in. Eleven areas is a lot to get through in one visit, so don't expect to hit them all, and that's probably the point, you come back another time for the bits you missed.
Sessions run for 80 minutes and they mean it, doors stay locked until about five minutes before your slot so they can reset the town, so turning up ages early just means standing about. It's £8.25 off peak and £9.25 at peak for a child, but one adult goes in free per paying child, which softens the blow a bit. It's cashless throughout, so leave the coins at home and bring a card for the café too.
Places per session are limited and they will turn you away if it's full, so booking online is the sensible move even if you fancy just popping in. There's on-site parking, and if you fancy the train instead it's about a nine minute walk from Batley station. Birthday parties run here too, either a private do for up to 30 kids with 80 minutes of play plus half an hour of party time for £300, or a smaller Little Party for 10 kids on weekdays.
