What it’s like

Baby massage, baby and toddler yoga, and pregnancy and birth prep classes for parents from bump to walking age.

This one's about the classes rather than a venue you visit for a big day out. Baby massage starts from 6 weeks, which is early enough to bring a newborn who still spends most of the day asleep on you. Baby yoga picks up from 20 weeks, once they've got a bit more head control and can join in properly, and toddler yoga takes over from 11 months when they're on the move and want to copy what everyone else is doing.

There's also pregnancy yoga if you're expecting, and a couples active birth preparation workshop, which is a nice one to do together before the baby arrives rather than leaving all the reading to one person. The age range across the classes covers pregnancy right through the first year, so you could realistically start with pregnancy yoga and still be going with toddler yoga a couple of years later.

It suits parents on their own with a baby as much as couples wanting to do the birth prep together. Baby massage and baby yoga in particular are as much about the parent learning the moves as the baby enjoying them, so don't expect to just sit back and watch.

Need to know

Best for
From pregnancy to toddlers around 11 months plus
  • Baby massage is open from 6 weeks old, earlier than a lot of baby classes.
  • Baby yoga waits until 20 weeks for head control, so it's not the first class you'll go to with a newborn.
  • The birth preparation workshop is designed for couples, not just the pregnant parent.
